Downshaft
Downshaft is a slow, quiet idle game about a mine that never stops going down.
Strike the rock, hire a crew, and let them dig. Every measure of ore pushes the shaft deeper, and every new stratum - Subsoil, Glacial Till, Limestone Karst, Granite Root, all the way to the Inner Core - multiplies the whole operation above it.
Then you bring the tunnels down on purpose.
Six prestige layers, each with its own idea.
- Collapse the shaft for Crystal Cores and spend them on the Shoring Ledger - six ranked upgrades you can buy again and again.
- Reforge in the Magma Sea and melt your shards into alloys at the Alloy Forge. Three slots, six alloys, and a different loadout for every phase of a run.
- Fracture the core and spend Fracture Points on a three-branch build that ends in choose-one capstones. Clear and refund whenever you want to try another route.
- Compression, Ascension, and Eternity lie deeper still. They're playable today and getting their own mechanics in coming updates.
Built for people who actually like idle games.
- Runs at real speed. No time-warp, no speed-up buttons.
- Always-on offline progress (12 hours to start, upgradeable to unlimited).
- Every prestige is manual. The game never resets you.
- Auto-buy and auto-spend are earned through play, not handed out.
- 35 Feats, each a permanent +2% ore, through every reset.
- Export/import save codes. Your progress is yours.
Free, in the browser, no account. Feedback is very welcome - this is the first public build and the deeper layers are being shaped by what players ask for.

Ai ai ai. Fine incremental but no soul - unclear funky mechanics, no graphics, wierd names. If you don't want to code, you can at least create images and sound effects, even just using your browser and a speck of creativity.
start is way to slow to reach 30 depth
Cool idler!
The buy buttons only somtimes work.
